Is U.S. Waterproofing a Franchise?

Dec 7, 2020 • By Matthew Stock.

Family Owned Since 1957

According to Investopedia, a franchise is a type of license that grants a franchisee access to a franchisor’s proprietary business knowledge, processes and trademarks, thus allowing the franchisee to sell a product or service under the franchisor’s business name.” Or in smaller terms, you buy a special license to run a business under a company’s name using their policies and procedures. We get asked all the time, is U.S. Waterproofing a Franchise?

The answer is no! Although our name sounds big and national, we are a family owned business since 1957! U.S. Waterproofing is the largest basement waterproofing company in the Midwest servicing the Chicagoland area including Southeast Wisconsin and Northwest Indiana. We are headquartered right in the center of our service area in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Matt Stock, President of U.S. Waterproofing is a 3rd generation owner, his father Jerry Stock was 2nd generation President before him. Matt’s Great Uncle Al founded U.S. Waterproofing after returning from serving in the military. He decided to start a basement waterproofing business out of an old garage and named it U.S. Waterproofing after his love for his country.

People often ask if we are a franchise because we have been around for 63 years and they see us everywhere from radio, TV to billboards. U.S. Waterproofing provides an array of residential and commercial waterproofing services from foundation crack repair, drain tile to concrete raising. We pride ourselves in our honesty, integrity, and extensive knowledge of the waterproofing industry. We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and won their Torch award for ethics in the marketplace. We have also garnered over 500 reviews on Google Business and reflect a 4.6‑star rating! If you ever notice seepage in your basement you can book a free estimate online or via phone. Our amazing customer service representatives are here to help you!
